How to Be FAMOUS ?
1. Be sure that fame is really what you want.
- Think about it. At this point you still have a choice.
you can be famous or you can live the rest of your life in peaceful anonymity. Are you sure?
Because once the wheels on the fame machine start to turn it is impossible to ever go back.
It's there forever, like a scar.
2. Believe you are a star.
- It helps if you have some talent. If you don't, then you must be prepared to acquire some.
That will take plenty of time, hard work and perhaps money, but do it.
If you believe that you're a star, then you should be eager to learn.
Don't think you can get by without it.
Find the time, find the money. If you're a star, then nothing will stop you.
3. Enjoy the journey.
- There may be an occasion_the launch party for your first album, say, or your face on a
billboard in Times Square_when you will think that you have arrived. But these things are
just landmarks on the path. There will be plenty more landmarks before your time on
earth is done. Find the fun. Because if you're not enjoying yourself then you're doing it wrong.
4. Neutralize negative influences.
- There will be people who say that you cannot do this.
There will be people who say that you should aim for something more realistic.
They will say that they care about you and do not want to see you make a fool
of yourself. These people do not love you. Forget them. You can prove them wrong.
5. Do not fear what you do not know.
- There is nothing wrong with looking ahead, but worrying about the future is a waste
of energy. The future is unlikely to be precisely what you envisage. You might think that
your life plan covers all eventualities, but then the unforeseen will flip your plan on its
backside and leave it scrambling for dignity.
Plan, but remain supple. You will always land on your feet.
6. Avoid overcomplicating your goals.
- This is not the same as aiming too high. The path to fame can often be surreally
uncomplicated. You can't do everything, life's not long enough and you sure can't do
everything all at once, otherwise, you'll burn out before your time.
You're in this for the long term, remember? This is the fame you're after, not fleeting
celebrity. Keep it simple.
7. Network
- I cannot stress strongly enough that there is no such thing as an enigma.
Any star with a reputation for mystery has had that reputation carefully crafted
by a highly paid team of experts. The true enigma is only the unknown. So get to know
the locals, work the room and be civil.
8. Learn when to blend and when to sparkle
- There is such thing as too much. Too much glass, too much glamour, too much razzmatazz. People have their limits, which explains why Vegas has always been more of a weekend place.Tone it down occasionally and watch quietly at the back. At times conformity is the key to success.
9. Accept that your life will never be the same again.
- I hear you. You're saying that you want to change your life, that's why you're on this
journey. But if you think about it you'll find that what you really crave is
not change but added extras. You still want your loved ones and your special places to hide.
You still want to indulge in your fondest pleasures and keep hold of your spirit.
You might not be able to.
Accept that.
10. Never give up.
- This is not the same as changing your mind. We have to learn from our mistakes.
Only a fool travels the wrong path twice from the same crossroads.
